Bio
Reese Inman currently lives and works in Belfast, ME. A graduate of Harvard University and recipient of the David McCord arts award, her formal educational background includes studies in studio art, film, literature, computer programming, classical piano, and intermedia.
Reese is a 2004 graduate of the School of the Museum of Fine Arts Diploma program and 2005 graduate of the same institution’s Fifth Year Certificate program, a two-time recipient of the Dana Pond Award in Painting (2004 & 2005), a 2005 recipient of the St. Botolph Club’s Grant-in-Aid Award, and a 2008 recipient of a Massachusetts Cultural Council Artist Fellowship. Her work is represented by Gallery NAGA, Boston, MA, and Simon Gallery, Morristown, NJ, and is in the collections of the deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum, Fidelity Investments, Simmons College, Neiman Marcus, Merck & Co. and Pricewaterhouse Coopers, as well as numerous private collections.
Statement
My work focuses around several interests: language and the construction of meaning; how we access, edit, categorize, remix and transform information; and intersections of these interests with everyday life.
