Electric Burn Drawings

The electric burn drawings developed from a longtime interest in making drawings by taking away from the paper instead of
adding to it. The drawing process unfolds as follows: first, an algorithmically generated printout is placed on top of a sheet of drawing paper; next, the printout is meticulously traced using an electric burn tool.

As a line is traced, the tool burns tiny holes of varying size through both the cartoon and the paper beneath; the size
of individual holes is related to how quickly my hand moves the burn tool, as well as whether or not holes are burned repeatedly due to location at an intersection of two or more lines.
